Thin Lizzy - Nightlife - 1974

The front cover, designed by Jim Fitzpatrick, shows a panther-like creature in a city scene. Fitzpatrick found his inspiration for the lettering by artist Roger Dean.
The panther is often thought to be intended to represent Lynott, but Fitzpatrick has confirmed that the panther referred to the Black Panthers and African-American political figures like Malcolm X and Martin Luther King.
The rest is a photo montage influenced by the collages of comic book artists like Jim Steranko and Jack Kirby which were appearing in Marvel comics.

The back, by Dave and Alan Field, continues in the colours of the night sky and shows a framed logo & photo of the band members and trivia of the album.
For the first time the then-new Lizzy Logo of Fitzpatrick was used.
