Cuby & the Blizzards - Groeten uit Grollo - 1967

The cover of 'Grollo' was the Dutch response to the hippie rage in America.
Harmony with nature, communal living, artistic experimentation particularly in music, and the widespread use of recreational drugs was the fundamental ethos of the hippie generation. All reasons to choose for a cover with a romantic image of the beautiful province Drenthe with sheep, shepherd and a wooden cabin with thatched roof. To complete the ethos Cuby & The Blizzards were put in hippie clothing. Above all a winged fairy; also a kind of hippie.

The album has also got a rather unusual title: 'Greetings from Grollo' marketed
with one 'o'. Probably just a mistake.
It refers to the Drenthe village Grolloo
- the residence of the band.
